The purpose of this Ordinance is to zone the entire area of the City of Blue Ridge into districts as permitted by the provisions of Chapter 211 of the Local Government Code, Vernon’s Texas Codes Annotated. The districts have been designed to lessen congestion in the streets; to provide safety from fire, panic, and other dangers; to provide adequate light and air; to prevent the overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population; and to provide and facilitate adequate provisions for transportation, water, sewage, schools, parks, open spaces and other public requirements. The districts have been created with fair and reasonable consideration of the character of each particular district and its peculiar suitability for particular uses and with a view of insuring the appropriate use of all property and to prohibit the inappropriate use of all property and thereby promote the general good and welfare of the public.
