In the event any building or structure is erected, structurally altered, or maintained, or any building, structure or land is used in violation of this chapter, any proper official of the City of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, or their duly authorized representatives, in addition to other remedies, may institute any appropriate action or proceedings to prevent such unlawful erection, structural alteration, maintenance, use or other violations, to restrain, correct or abate such violations, to prevent the occupants of such building, structure, or abate such violation, to prevent the occupancy of such building, structure or land or to prevent any illegal act, conduct, business or use in or about such premises. Each day such violation continues shall constitute a separate violation.

Each day that any violation of any provision of this chapter continues or exists, shall constitute a separate offense and a misdemeanor. The violation of any provision hereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding $25.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding five days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.
