Breckenridge City Zoning Code

Sec. 22-1

Purpose.

The purpose of the Breckenridge Zoning Ordinance is to establish regulations and districts in accordance with the comprehensive plan in order to foster planned, quality growth, to protect the health, safety, welfare and property of the public, and to encourage economic opportunity within the city limits of Breckenridge. These regulations have been designed to assist in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the comprehensive plan and:

(A)

Lessen congestion in the streets;

(B)

Minimize flooding and secure safety from fire, panic and other dangers;

(C)

Promote health and general welfare;

(D)

Provide adequate light and air;

(E)

Prevent the overcrowding of land and undue concentration of population density;

(F)

Facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewers, schools, and parks; and

(G)

Provide for standards for development of all land in the city.
