An illustration of this type of luminaire is provided below. Commentary. This standard is designed to ensure that no light is emitted above a horizontal line parallel to the ground. In order to achieve total cutoff at 90º, such a luminaire shall emit maximum (peak) candlepower at an angle not exceeding 75º This angle is formed by the line at which maximum candlepower is emitted from the light source and a line perpendicular to the ground from the light source. |
