Definition. A mural is any inscription, artwork, figure, urban wall art, marking, or design that is marked, etched, scratched, drawn, or painted directly or indirectly on a wall, ceiling, or other interior surfaces of public buildings and structures. Painted graphics that are mosaics, or any type of graphic art that are painted or affixed on a wall or on another surface that is then combined into a public space or facility are included in the definition of a mural. No mural may be installed on any exterior public space or facility. No mural may contain advertising symbols, trademarks, or other references to any products, or services.
