For the purpose of this title, the following zones are hereby established:

The boundaries for the zones listed in this title are indicated on the city of Lyons zoning map of 1980 which is hereby adopted by reference. The boundaries shall be modified in accordance with zoning map amendments which shall be adopted by ordinance. [Ord. P10-21 § 3.020, 1997.]

All areas annexed to the city shall be placed in a zone that is consistent with the Lyons comprehensive plan designation. The city planning commission shall submit an appropriate zoning recommendation to the city council for their consideration. In the event that no Lyons comprehensive plan designation exists, the land area shall be placed in the residential, single-family zone (SFR) until an appropriate plan designation and zone can be established. Unless otherwise specified, zone boundaries are section lines, subdivision lines, lot lines, center lines of streets other than alleys or railroad right-of-way, or such lines extended. [Ord. P10-21 § 3.040, 1997.]
