This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Zoning Ordinance of the City of Marlborough, Massachusetts." It is enacted in accordance with MGL Chapter 40A, as amended, the Zoning Act.

The purpose of this Zoning Ordinance is to promote and conserve the health and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City; to secure safety from fire, confusion or congestion; to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage and other public services; to avoid undue concentrations of population; to encourage the most appropriate use of land; and to increase the amenities of the City.
