TITLE ONE
Planning
1101.01 CREATION; COMPOSITION; TERM.
There is hereby created a Planning Commission for the Village which shall have all the powers provided for in Ohio R.C. Chapter 713 and shall consist of five members: the Mayor, one member of the legislative authority to be elected thereby for the remainder of his term as such member of the legislative authority, and three citizens of the Village to be appointed by the Mayor for terms of six years each, except that the term of one of the members of the first commission shall be for four years and one for two years. All such members shall serve without compensation. Members of the Planning Commission may be removed from office by Council for cause on written charges and after a public hearing.

1101.02 DUTIES.
The Planning Commission shall also be the Platting Commission and shall have all duties and powers as prescribed by the Ohio Revised Code including, but not limited to the following:
(a) The authority to initiate proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and/or Map;
(b) The authority to review all proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and make written recommendations to Council on such amendments;
(c) The authority to review and approve all Planned Unit Developments;
(d) The authority to recommend to Council the employment of architects, engineers and other professional services to ensure the proper functioning of this chapter and the proper planning of the Village;
(e) The responsibility to keep an accurate and current copy of the Zoning Map on permanent and prominent display at the Municipal Building.

1101.03 APPOINTMENTS.
Appointments to the Planning Commission shall be made by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council. (Ord. 2347-84. Passed 4-3-84.)
