2.0. - DISTRICTS
The City of Medford, Massachusetts, is hereby divided into these zoning districts, designated as follows:
The location and boundaries of the zoning districts are as shown, defined, and bounded on the set of maps accompanying this chapter entitled, "Zoning Map, City of Medford, Massachusetts," dated April 13, 1965. The set of maps consists of a one inch = 600 feet map of the entire city and a series of 218 one inch = 80 feet maps. In the event of a discrepancy in delineation of any area, the one inch = 80 feet map shall control. The zoning map, its amendments and all explanatory matter thereon are hereby made a part of this chapter.
The following overlay and special districts are also established, as set forth in section 94-9.0, herein:
Boundaries of the zoning districts where indicated on the zoning map as approximately following city limits; platted lot lines or the centerlines of streets, water courses, or railroad lines as they existed at the effective date of adoption or amendment of this chapter; or extensions thereof shall be construed to follow respectively such city limits; platted lot lines or centerlines of streets, water courses or railroad lines; or extensions thereof unless otherwise delineated on the zoning map.
94-2.5.1 By City Boundary. When a lot is situated in part in the city and in part in an adjacent municipality, the provisions of this chapter shall be applied to the portion of such lot in the City of Medford in the same manner as if the entire lot were situated in the City of Medford.
94-2.5.2 By Zoning District Boundary. When a lot is transected by a zoning district boundary, the regulations of this chapter applicable to the larger part of the area of such lot may also at the option of the lot owner be deemed to govern in the smaller part beyond such zoning district boundary but only to an extent not more than 30 linear feet in depth beyond such zoning district boundary.
