The intent of the PU—Public Use district is designed to protect public facilities such as parks, schools, wastewater treatment facilities, etc., from pressure of alternate development. This district is applied to those areas deemed necessary for the long term use and enjoyment of the city and its citizens; and to provide for and protect public institutional facilities within the city, including public utility facilities. The district use chart, Section 18.11.050, sets forth those uses which are permitted outright, require a conditional use permit, or planned development approval in the PU—Public Use district. (Ord. 1286 (part), 1995).
