In "A" Residence Districts, main structures or buildings shall not exceed 20 feet in height and may be one-story, one-and-one-half-story, or two-story structures, but in no case exceed two stories. Accessory structures shall not exceed 15 feet in height and shall not exceed one story.

In "B" Residence Districts, main structures or buildings shall not exceed 20 feet in height and may be one-story, one-and-one-half-story, or two-story structures, but in no case exceed two stories. Accessory structures shall not exceed 20 feet in height and shall not exceed two stories.

In the Commercial District, buildings or structures shall in no case exceed three stories or 45 feet in height.

In any Residence District where a terrace exists, the height of the building may be established by measuring the distance from ground level adjacent to the building; provided, that the building is set back from the street line a distance equal to the height of the terrace and also provided that no such building shall be required to be set back more than 25 feet from the building line complying with the regulation.

In any district, the height may be exceeded by schools, public buildings, and buildings occupied exclusively as churches, cathedrals and temples, provided such buildings have the prescribed yards on all sides; stairways, tanks, ventilating fans, fire or parapet walls, chimneys and all similar equipment required to operate and maintain the building are also excepted from the height regulations.

In any district, the height limitations may be exceeded for municipal structures such as water towers and pumping mechanisms, air-raid sirens and public warning devices and like items which are a necessary part of any municipal function.

A basement and/or cellar, when designed for occupancy as a dwelling, shall be counted as a story; when otherwise designed and used, it shall not be counted as a story.

On through lots, the height limit including all exceptions thereto, beginning at either frontage, shall apply to a depth not exceeding 1/2 the depth of the lot.

On interior lots, the height limit, including all exceptions thereto, shall apply to a depth equal to 1/2 the depth of the lot as measured from frontage to frontage on a line projected through the center of the lot in question. Any rear portion of such a lot, beyond the center line of the block, shall have the height limit similar to that applying upon the lot immediately abutting in the rear.
