- AMENDMENTS, PENALTIES VALIDITY, ETC
51.1. [Amended by Commission.] These regulations, including the building zone map which is a part hereof, may be amended by the commission on its own initiative or when initiated by a petition. Any amendment may be adopted only after due notice and public hearing as prescribed by the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut. Any petition for amendment shall be accompanied by the following:
51.1.1. For petitions concerning the text of these regulations, fifteen (15) copies of the existing and proposed text shall be submitted.
51.1.2. For petitions concerning the building zone map, two (2) copies of a map shall be submitted, drawn to a scale of not less than two hundred (200) feet to the inch, covering the area of the proposed change and all area in the city within five hundred (500) feet of the proposed change, and showing for such area the existing and proposed zoning district boundary lines, the existing property lines and the names of the current property owners as indicated in the Shelton assessor's records.
51.1.3. A petition fee deposit of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) any portion of which that is unused for necessary legal notices, stenographic reports and other required expenses shall be returned to the petitioner.
52.1. [Penalties.] Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of these regulations shall be subject to penalties in accordance with the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut.
53.1. [Validity.] If any section, paragraph or provision of these regulations shall be adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall not invalidate any other section, paragraph or provision of these regulations and such remainder shall be deemed valid and effective.
54.1. [Effective Date.] These regulations, and any amendment or change hereto, shall be in full force and effect from the date established by the commission, in accordance with the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut.
54.2. [Repeal.] The zoning ordinance of the City of Shelton, adopted by the zoning commission on August 5, 1966, and all amendments thereto, are repealed coincident with the effective date of these regulations. The repeal of the above ordinance and all amendments thereto shall not affect the status of any personnel and shall not affect or impair any act done, offense committed or right accruing, accrued or acquired or any liability, penalty, forfeiture of punishment incurred prior to the time such repeal took effect, but the same may be enjoyed, asserted, enforced, prosecuted or inflicted as fully and to the same extent as if such repeal had not been effected.
