Sec. 7.135

Placement of signs.

(1)

View blockage. No sign shall be placed in a way that blocks any part of a driver's or pedestrian's vision of a road, road intersection, crosswalk, vision clearance triangle, authorized traffic sign or device, or any other public transportation mechanism.

(2)

Vision clearance triangle. No sign shall be located within a vision clearance triangle.

(3)

Road right-of-way setback requirements.

(a)

No sign may be erected so that any part may extend into the road right-of-way.

(b)

All signs shall be setback not less than five feet from the right-of-way line of any road or highway.

(c)

Wayfinding signs maybe located within a road right-of-way following approval from the unit of government that governs the road right-of-way.

(4)

Side and rear yard setback requirements.

(a)

Off-premises ground and wall signs shall meet the required setbacks for an accessory structure as expressed by the zoning district with which the sign is located.

(b)

On-premises ground and wall signs shall be setback not less than five feet from any side or rear yard.
