The provisions of this chapter may be amended by the Board of Supervisors consistent with the procedures prescribed in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.

Amendment of floodplain boundaries. The delineation of any of the floodplain districts may be amended as specified above where natural or man-made changes have occurred or where studies by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, River Basin Commission or other qualified agency, document the need for such change. Prior to any such change, approval shall be obtained from the Federal Insurance Administration.

Amendment of airport overlay district. The delineation of any of the Airport Zoning Districts (AZDs) may be amended as specified above or where studies by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning Commission or the Westmoreland County Airport or other qualified person shall document the need for such change. Prior to any such change, approval shall be obtained from the Westmoreland County Airport and the Federal Aviation Administration.
