Definitions of terms. The following definitions are applicable to this section:
BARBED WIREStrands of wire twisted together with barbs at regular, close intervals.
DECORATIVE FENCEA fence used for protection of home gardens or for decorative lawn accents being of visually unobtrusive construction, such as decorative wood or cast-iron picket fencing.
FENCEA barrier, as of wooden or metal posts, rails, wire mesh, etc., used as a boundary, decorative enclosure, means of protection or confinement.
HEDGEA row of closely planted shrubs, bushes or other natural landscaping, forming a boundary or fence.
HEIGHTUnless otherwise noted, the distance measured from the average grade to the top of the fence.
PICKETA stake or slat, usually pointed, used as an upright in a fence.
POSTA piece of wood, metal, etc., usually square or cylindrical, set upright to support a fence.
RAILA bar of wood or metal, etc., placed horizontally between upright posts to serve as a barrier or support.
RAZOR WIREStrands of wire with a continuous or combination of continuous and barbed sharp cutting edges.
STRUCTURAL FENCEFencing types, such as masonry, chain link, stockade, basket weave, continuous board and other visually obstructive fencing types.
WALLAn upright structure of wood, stone, brick, etc., serving to enclose, divide, support or protect.
