INTERPRETATION AND VALIDITY

§ 27-1201 Interpretation.

In interpreting and applying the provisions of this chapter, they shall be held to be minimum requirements for the promotion of the public safety, health, convenience, comfort, morals, prosperity and general welfare. It is not intended by this chapter to interfere with or abrogate or annul any ordinance, rules, regulations, or permits previously adopted or issued, and not in conflict with any of the provisions of this chapter, or which shall be adopted or issued, pursuant to law, relating to the use of buildings or premises and likewise not in conflict with this chapter; nor is it intended by this chapter to interfere with or abrogate or annul any easements, covenants, or other agreements between parties.

§ 27-1202 Severability.

If any article, section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, or phrase of this chapter is for any reason held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter.

§ 27-1203 Repealer.

All ordinances or parts thereof which are in conflict with the provisions of this chapter are hereby repeated.

§ 27-1204 When Effective.

This chapter shall become effective from and after the date of its approval and adoption as provided by law.
