Sec. 52-351. - Comprehensive plan adopted.

The city has adopted a comprehensive plan to serve as a guideline and the official plan of action of the city for effectively dealing with the problem of urban blight and slums.

Sec. 52-381. - Created, number and term of members.

A city planning and zoning commission is created, composed of seven members, who shall serve two-year terms.

Sec. 52-382. - Function.

The function of the city planning and zoning commission is to act as an advisory board to the city governing body relating to every nature of public improvements, civic improvements, city planning, opening, widening and drainage of streets, routing of public utilities, controlling and regulating traffic upon the public streets and ways of the city and such other matters relating to city improvements as the city may deem beneficial to the city.

Sec. 52-383. - Meetings; quorum.

The city planning and zoning commission will hold meetings with a majority of the commissioners being present to constitute a quorum.

Sec. 52-384. - Duties.

The city planning and zoning commission shall:

(1)

Prepare a comprehensive master plan for the city.

(2)

Prepare a city zoning ordinance and hold public hearings concerned with the amendments to the city zoning ordinance and shall make recommendations concerning such zoning amendments to the city council.

(3)

Hold public hearings and pass on plats filed for the subdivision of all land within the jurisdiction of the city.

(4)

Have the power to make its own rules in regard to public meetings.
