In accordance with the Metropolitan River Protection Act, O.C.G.A. § 12-5-440 et seq., any land within the city that lies within 2,000 feet of the Chattahoochee River is subject to the provisions of that act and subsequent rules and regulations adopted by the Atlanta Regional Commission.
