Brooklet City Zoning Code

ARTICLE I

- ENACTMENT, SHORT TITLE, JURISDICTION, PURPOSE

Sec. 1-1.- Enactment clause.

The city council comprised of the mayor and council of Brooklet, Georgia, under the authority granted by Article 9, Section 2, Paragraph 4, of the Georgia Constitution of 1983, hereby ordains and enacts into law the following articles and sections.

Sec. 1-2. - Short title.

This ordinance shall be known and cited as the "Zoning Ordinance of Brooklet, Georgia."

Sec. 1-3. - Jurisdiction.

This ordinance shall govern the use of all land and the development thereof within the corporate limits of the City of Brooklet, Georgia.

Sec. 1-4. - Purpose.

The purpose of this ordinance shall be to promote the proper location, height, number of stories and size of buildings and other structures, the sizes of yards, courts, and other open spaces, the density and distribution of population, and the uses of buildings, structures, and land for trade, industry, residence, recreation, agriculture, forestry, conservation, sanitation, protection against floods, public activities and other purposes so as to lessen congestion in the streets; to provide adequate provision of transportation, water, sewage, schools, parks and other public requirements; to promote desirable living conditions and the sustained stability of neighborhoods; to protect property against blight and depreciation; to preserve aesthetic beauty; to secure economy in governmental expenditures; and to promote the general health, safety, morality and welfare in connection with the use and development of land, buildings, and structures throughout the City of Brooklet and for other purposes.
