The city now owns certain land described in exhibit "A" attached to the ordinance from which this section is derived and the city school district owns certain land described in exhibit "B" attached to the ordinance from which this section is derived.

The city has for many years leased the lands described in exhibit "B" from the city school district. Said lands constitute Ashley Park, a city park used by the city primarily for recreational sports. The land described in exhibit "A" at present is the site of a water storage tank which is no longer needed by the city.

It is therefore in the best interests of the city to exchange said lands to secure ownership of Ashley Park by the city.
