ELECTRIC CODE; UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION
§ 152.01 ADOPTION OF NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE.
The National Electric Code, 1971 edition, and all amendments thereto, published by the National Fire Prevention Association, is adopted by the city. Three copies of the code have been and are now filed in the office of the safety-service director. The code is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out in length herein, and, from the date on which this code of ordinances takes effect, the provisions thereof shall control within the city limits.
In all new residential subdivisions containing 12 or more contiguous lots:
(A) The Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company shall install the:
(1) Electric distribution facilities; and
(2) Facilities for street lighting, serving such subdivisions underground within or along the right-of-way of existing or proposed public streets, provided, prior to installation of such facilities, the developer pays the company therefor in accordance with the company's schedule, and gives the company a written commitment to pay the company for the cost of any relocation of such facilities, and to provide all easements necessary for relocation and for any extension.
(B) The developer shall provide necessary easements to the company at no cost to the company;
(C) All service lines connecting the ultimate customer's service entrance equipment to the company's main line facilities shall be installed by the developer, at the developer's cost, to a point determined by the company, the actual connection at the company's main line to be made by the company;
(D) The company is permitted to install pad-mounted transformers, and nothing in this chapter shall be construed as requiring the installation of underground transformers, except on payment of an additional charge therefor in accordance with the company's schedule; and
(E) Prior to the paving of any street, the developer, at its cost, shall install conduit crossovers for electric break facilities as specified by the company.

§ 152.06 EXCEPTIONS.
This chapter shall not be construed to prohibit the installation or maintenance of street lighting poles or standards, or to require the undergrounding of existing overhead or other electric facilities.

§ 152.07 DEFINITIONS.
For purposes of this chapter the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings ascribed to them respectively.
DEVELOPER. Any owner, builder, or developer.
ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES. Only those distribution facilities serving homes in subdivisions of the kind described above and does not include distribution or transmission facilities which deliver power through subdivisions, or transmission facilities which terminate in subdivisions.
FACILITIES. Wires, cables, transformers, and appurtenances.
NEW. Residential subdivisions mentioned in this chapter means such subdivisions built after the effective date of this chapter.
