ARTICLE XVII

Zoning Commission

§ 361-124 Planning Commission to serve as Zoning Commission; authority.

The Municipal Planning Commission heretofore created in accordance with 11 O.S. § 45-101 et seq. and as appointed by the City Council of the City of El Reno is hereby appointed the Zoning Commission and shall have jurisdiction and authority as follows:

To receive and act upon application for actions authorized and as specified herein.

To hold public hearings on applications for conditional use permits, and on proposed amendments to this chapter, in the manner hereinafter prescribed.

Following public hearings, to submit to the City Council a report and recommendations on each such amendment, or for the authorization of a conditional use.

On its own initiative, to petition the City Council requesting the amendment of this chapter; provided that it shall first have held public hearings thereon in the manner prescribed.

To initiate, from time to time, a comprehensive review of the provisions of this chapter and to make a report of its findings and recommendations to the Council.
