ARTICLE 19

- VIOLATION AND PENALTY

Sec. 22-19-1.- Conformity with chapter.

All departments, officials and public employees of the County which are vested with the duty or authority to issue permits or licenses shall conform to the provisions of this chapter. They shall issue permits for uses, buildings or purposes only when they are in harmony with the provisions of this chapter. Any such permit, if issued in conflict with the provisions of this chapter, shall be null and void.

Sec. 22-19-2. - Violation of chapter.

Any person, firm or corporation, whether as principal, agent, employee or otherwise, violating, causing or permitting the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than $10.00 nor more than $1,000.00. Such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed to be guilty of a separate offense for each successive ten (10) day period during which any portion of any violation of this ordinance is committed, continued, or permitted by such persons, firm or corporation, and shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $100.00 nor more than $1,500.00.

Sec. 22-19-3. - Authority of Zoning Administrator.

In addition to the foregoing, the Zoning Administrator shall have all necessary authority on behalf of the governing body to administer and enforce the zoning ordinance, including the ordering in writing of the remedying of any condition found in violation of the ordinance, and the bringing of legal action to ensure compliance with the ordinance, including injunction, abatement or other appropriate action or proceeding.
