The boundaries of each district are hereby established as shown on a map entitled "Official Zoning Map, City of Fort Valley, Georgia." The official zoning map shall be identified by the signature of the mayor attested by the city clerk under the following words: "This is to certify that this is the Official Zoning Map referred to in Section 42 of the Zoning Ordinance, City of Fort Valley, Georgia," together with the date of the adoption of this ordinance. Said map and all explanatory matter thereon accompanies and is hereby made a part of the ordinance, and will hereinafter be referred to as the "zoning map." Said map shall be retained in the office of the building inspector.
If, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, changes are made in district boundaries or other subject matter portrayed on the zoning map, such change shall be made on the official zoning map promptly after the amendment has been approved by the city council, together with an entry on the zoning map as follows:
"On -(date)-, by official action of the city council, the following changes (change) were (was) made in the Official Zoning Map: (brief description of nature of change);"

Where uncertainty exists with respect to the boundaries of any of the aforesaid districts as shown on the zoning map, the following rules shall apply:
(44.1)
Unless otherwise indicated, the district boundaries are indicated as approximately following land lot lines, centerlines of streets, highways, alleys or railroads, shore lines of streams, reservoirs, or other bodies of water, or civil boundaries and they shall be construed to follow such lines.
(44.2)
Where district boundaries are so indicated that they are approximately parallel to the center lines of streets, highways or railroads, or rights-of-way of same, or the center lines of streams, reservoirs, or other bodies of water, or said lines extended, such district boundaries shall be construed as being parallel thereto and at such distance therefrom as indicated on the zoning map. If no distance is given, such dimensions shall be determined by the use of the scale shown on said zoning map.
(44.3)
Where a district boundary line as appearing on the zoning map divides a lot in single ownership at the time of this enactment, the district requirements for the least restricted portion of such lot shall be deemed to apply to the whole thereof, provided that such extensions shall not include any part of such a lot more than 35 feet beyond the district boundary line.
All land newly annexed to the corporate limits of the city shall be automatically classified as R-1 Residential District pending further study to determine its proper use district.
