The parameters to be tested for by the independent water testing laboratory include water temperature, pH, specific conductivity, total dissolved solids, turbidity, oil/grease/bromide, hardness, residue filterable, residue nonfilterable, volatile organic compounds, detergent (MBAs), total organic carbon, major ions (chloride, fluoride, sulfate, nitrate, silica, calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium), trace elements (aluminum, arsenic, barium, boron, iron, manganese, selenium, uranium, iodine), radiochemical (gross alpha/gross beta radioactivity, radium, radon, in addition to uranium), organic constituents (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), methane, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), ethane, propane, total petroleum hydrocarbons), heavy metals (cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, strontium, vanadium, zinc), compounds (formaldehyde, hydrofluoric acid, nitrogen oxides, ethylene glycol, acetone), and microbes (total coliform/E.Coli). The foregoing list of parameters is not exhaustive and the Borough reserves the right to add additional parameters.
