In accordance with a comprehensive plan and in pursuance of authority granted by Article IX, Section 2, Paragraph 1 of The Constitution of The State of Georgia 1976, and for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, morals, convenience, order, prosperity, or general welfare of the present and future inhabitants of unincorporated portions of Glynn County, lessening congestion in the streets; securing safety from fire, panic, and other dangers; providing adequate light and air; preventing the overcrowding of land; avoiding undue concentration of population; facilitating the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks, and other public requirements; and regulating with reasonable consideration, among other things, the character of the various districts and their peculiar suitability for particular uses, with a view to promoting desirable living conditions and the sustained stability of neighborhoods; protecting property against blight and depreciation; securing economy in governmental expenditures; conserving the value of buildings and encouraging the most appropriate use of land, buildings and other structures throughout this County; the Board of Commissioners, Glynn County, Georgia, do ordain and enact into law the following Articles and Sections, for application to the unincorporated portions of Glynn County.
