Appurtenant structures. The Planning Board may impose reasonable requirements concerning the bulk, height, setbacks, and building coverage of structures appurtenant to a large-scale wind energy conversion device, as well as parking requirements for such structures. All appurtenant structures, including, but not limited to, equipment shelters, storage facilities, transformers, and substations, shall be architecturally compatible with each other and shall only be used for housing of equipment for the particular wind energy conversion facilities on the site. Whenever possible, structures should be shielded from view by vegetation and/or located in an underground vault and joined or clustered to avoid adverse visual impacts.
