SECTION XVIII
Municipal Overlay District
§ 18.1 Purpose.
The purpose of the Municipal Overlay District is to protect the health, safety, convenience and welfare of the public by facilitating the siting of municipal uses and facilities required for the safe and efficient operation of Town government.
§ 18.2 Permitted uses.
Uses hereinafter defined as "municipal uses" shall be permitted uses in the Municipal Overlay District. The following shall be considered municipal uses:
18.2.1.
Any use or activity owned and operated by the Town of Hadley, including any of the departments, boards, commissions or agencies of the Town.
18.2.2.
Any use or activity, whether or not owned or operated by the Town of Hadley, which is being conducted on land owned by the Town and is performing an essential public function for the residents of the Town, including the receipt and handling of the solid waste of the Town's residents and businesses.
§ 18.3 Dimensional requirements.
Uses permitted as municipal uses pursuant to this section shall be subject to the dimensional requirements of the underlying zoning district.
§ 18.4 Location of district.
The following parcels of land shall be included in the Municipal Overlay District: Map 5B, Lot 1; Map 5A, Lot 6.
