ARTICLE XI

Light Industry District

§ 87-51 Purpose.

The purpose of the Light Industry (LI) District is to provide for light manufacturing, research and testing laboratories, technological industries and like businesses. These uses require utilities and good street access but are lower in intensity than heavy industrial uses. Light industry businesses provide jobs and strengthen the economic base of the Township but do not create high levels of noise, smoke, vibrations, effluent or other negative impacts as a result of their manufacturing processes. In addition, they do not generate excessive volumes of truck or other traffic. Residential uses are not permitted in this district.

§ 87-52 Uses.

A. 
Principal uses permitted by right in the Light Industry District are listed in the Table of Uses located in Article II, Table 1.
B. 
Special exceptions allowed within the Light Industry District are listed in the Table of Uses located in Article II, Table 1, and shall meet the criteria set forth for such uses established in Article XXVI.
C. 
Accessory uses permitted by right or as a special exception in the Light Industry District are listed in the Table of Accessory Uses located in Article II, Table 2. Requirements applicable to accessory uses in the district are located in Article II, § 87-17, and in Table 4.

§ 87-53 Bulk and area standards.

The bulk and area standards in the Light Industry District are set forth in Article II, Tables 3 and 4.

§ 87-54 Supplementary regulations.

A. 
Performance standards and other special provisions are set forth in Article XX.
B. 
Parking and loading requirements are set forth in Article XXI.
C. 
Signage requirements are set forth in Article XXII.
D. 
Landscaping and buffering standards are set forth in Article XXIII.
E. 
Timber harvesting and logging shall be conducted in accordance with Article XXIV.
