SHORT-TERM RENTALS

Sec. 78-316.- Definitions.

Leaseback means an arrangement where the seller of a home leases the home back from the purchaser. In a leaseback arrangement, the specifics of the arrangements are typically made prior or immediately after the sale of the home.

Short-term rental means the rental of all or part of a residential property to a person who does not have the right to use or possess the property for at least 30 consecutive days.

Sec. 78-317. - Short-term rentals prohibited.

Short-term rentals are hereby prohibited and unlawful within the Town of Hollywood Park. This shall not restrict, limit, or interfere with any homeowner from participating in a leaseback upon the sale of a rental unit.

Sec. 78-318. - Existing contracts with tenants.

Short-term rentals in existence and under contract at the time this article becomes effective have six months from the date of the signing of the ordinance to come into compliance with this article.

Sec. 78-319. - Penalties.

Violations of this section shall, upon conviction, be punished according to the general penalties listed in section 1-15 of this Code. The city may also seek enforcement through any administrative or civil means permitted by law.
