   A.   Table Notes:
      1.   The height of a building shall be the vertical distance measured from the mean elevation of the finished grade at the front of the building to the highest point of the building.
      2.   All buildings over thirty five feet (35') in height require review and approval from the fire district that such building is designed to provide adequate access for firefighting personnel; or from the building inspector that the building is otherwise designed or equipped to provide adequate protection against fire.
      3.   Chimneys, church spires, elevator shafts, flagpoles and antennas, and similar structural appendages, not intended as places of occupancy or storage, are exempt from the district height regulations. Heating and air conditioning equipment, solar collectors, and similar equipment, fixtures, and devices are exempt from district height regulations and shall be set back from the edge of the roof a minimum distance of one foot (1') for every foot by which they extend above the roof surface of the building to which they are attached.
      4.   Residential uses, existing or proposed, in commercial or industrial zones shall use the appropriate requirements specified for residential uses.
      5.   Open porches, platforms, terraces and steps no higher than the first floor elevation may extend into the front or rear yard a distance of not more than six feet (6'); and into the side yard not more than two and one-half feet (2.5').
      6.   Chimneys, eaves, cornices, and similar ornamentation, may extend no more than two and a half feet (2.5') into the required yard.
      7.   Accessories structures may be constructed to within five feet (5') of the rear yard. (Ord. 595, 6-13-2018; amd. Ord. 608, 3-11-2020)
