§ 9.520

Administration.

(a)
Building Inspector.
It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to enforce the provisions of this article, and to refuse to issue any permit for a building, or for a use of any premises which would violate any of the provisions of this article. Appeals from any decision of the Building Inspector may be taken to the Board of Adjustment as provided for in Section 9.516(c)(2).
(b)
Building Permits.
No construction shall be undertaken without a building permit. Each application for a building permit shall be accompanied by a plat, drawn to scale, showing actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon; the size, shape and location of the building to be erected, and such other information as may be necessary to provide for the enforcement of this article. A record of applications and plats shall be kept in the office of the Building Inspector. Any building permit shall be valid for a period of 12 months after issuance. Any person failing to commence construction within said 12 months period after issuance of the building permit shall be required to reapply to the Building Inspector for the issuance of a new building permit prior to commencing construction.
