A.

In order to designate districts for the purposes of this title, the city is divided into the following districts:

1.

Residence A District;

2.

Residence B District;

3.

Medical Community District;

4.

Agricultural-Suburban District;

5.

Business-Residence District;

6.

Main Business District; and

7.

Industrial District.

B.

The city is hereby divided into districts, or zones, as shown on the official zoning map, which, together with all explanatory matter thereon and amendments thereto, is hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter this 4th day of May, 1987.

C.

No building or structure shall be erected or altered, nor shall any building or premises be used for any purpose, other than a use permitted in the district in which the building or premises is located. No building or premises shall be used so as to produce greater heights, smaller yards, or less unoccupied area; and no building shall be occupied by more families than prescribed in this title for such building for the district in which it is located.

D.

No lot which is now or may be hereafter built upon as required in this title may be reduced in area so that the yards and open spaces will be smaller than prescribed by this title, and no yard, court, or open space provided about any building for the purpose of complying with the provisions of this title, shall again be used as a yard, court, or other open space for any other building.
