The adoption of Ordinance No. 2016-20 recognized the changing nature of the vacation rental dwelling market from second homes to business investments, the changes to the city's housing mix, and the city's desire to limit the influx of vacation rental dwellings in some areas of the city. Therefore, as of the effective date of Ordinance No. 2016-20, no additional properties may be zoned into the vacation rental (VR) zone. Areas zoned vacation rental (VR) prior to the effective date of Ordinance No. 2016-20 may retain that zoning designation.
