Plan
All public hearings required by law pertaining to the same, having been duly held, the city council adopts that certain Longview comprehensive plan entitled Longview Comprehensive Plan, October 2019, as and for the new comprehensive plan of the city, including any and all maps which are a part thereof. One copy of the comprehensive plan, with maps which form a part thereof, is on file and shall remain on file in the office of the city clerk, and a copy thereof, with maps which form a part thereof, is also on file in the office of the director of community development of the city. Pursuant to RCW 35A.63.072, the city council shall, within 60 days after receiving the recommendation of the planning commission as to any future amendment or amendments to the comprehensive plan, vote to approve or disapprove or to modify and approve, as modified, such amendment or amendments, or to refer the same back to the planning commission for further proceedings specifying the time within which the planning commission shall report back to the city council its findings and recommendations on the matters referred to it. The department of community development for the city shall cause to be prepared a new land use map reflecting the changes set out in LMC 19.03.021.26, such map to be designated as “Revised Land Use Map No. 1 – 2019 Comprehensive Plan,” and shall file a copy thereof in the office of the city clerk where the same shall be available for public inspection as required by RCW 35A.63.072. The revised map is made a part of the city’s comprehensive plan, replacing and superseding the land use map filed in accordance with LMC 19.03.010. (Ord. 3427 § 3, 2020).

By LMC 2.27.050, the powers and duties of the planning commission, including those relating to a comprehensive plan, as provided by state law, are set forth or referenced and should be read and construed in conjunction with this chapter.
