The C-R community recreational district is intended to provide and protect locations for outdoor recreational areas as well as community oriented social and recreational facilities. (1965 Code title 6 § 407.1)

Churches, temples or synagogues.
Forest preserve districts.
Parks and playgrounds.
Public buildings, including libraries, fire stations and police stations.
Recreational buildings.
Schools – elementary, junior high and high – nonboarding. (1965 Code title 6 § 407.2)
13-9-3: SPECIAL USES:
Cellular towers and similar structures.
Private clubs and fraternal organizations.
Utility uses including water filtration plants, pumping stations and reservoirs. (1965 Code title 6 § 407.3)
13-9-4: BULK REGULATIONS:
A. Minimum Yard And Lot Sizes: There are no set minimum yard or lot requirements for structures in a community recreational district.
B. Site Plan Review: Prior to the construction, alteration or enlargement of any structure within a community recreational district, site plan approval shall be obtained from the village board of trustees after review and recommendation by the zoning board of appeals/plan commission at a public meeting.
C. Other Requirements: Setbacks, lot area coverage and other bulk requirements shall be required, taking into context the size of the subject property and the setbacks and other bulk standards established in the vicinity of the subject property. (1965 Code title 6 § 407.4)
