- AMENDMENTS
18-1.
The regulations, restrictions, districts, and boundaries established in this ordinance may, from time to time, be amended, supplemented, changed, modified, or repealed by a favorable majority of votes of the governing body, provided:
18-1-1.
That a public hearing shall be held in relation thereto at which parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard.
18-1-2.
Notices shall be given of the time and place of such hearing in accordance with the requirements of Code of Virginia, § 15.1-431, as amended.
18-1-3.
Changes shall be made by the Board of Supervisors in the zoning ordinance or the zoning map only after such changes have been referred to the Planning Commission for a recommendation. Action shall be taken by the Board of Supervisors only after a recommendation has been made by the Planning Commission, unless a period of 90 days has elapsed after the first regular meeting of the Planning Commission after the amendment has been referred to it, after which time it may be assumed the Planning Commission has recommended approval of the amendment.
18-1-4.
Applications or petitions for amendments to the zoning ordinance or zoning map must be made in writing by the property owner(s), the contract buyer(s), or authorized agents. Each application must be accompanied by payment of the applicable application fee adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
