ARTICLE I
Title and Purpose
§ 112-1 Purpose.
This chapter is made in accordance with the Mount Airy Master Plan and is designed for the following purposes:
A.
To control congestion in the streets.
B.
To secure the public safety.
C.
To promote health and the general welfare.
D.
To provide adequate light and air.
E.
To promote the conservation of natural resources.
F.
To prevent environmental pollution.
G.
To avoid undue concentration of population.
H.
To facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, recreation, parks and other public requirements.
I.
To conserve the value of buildings.
J.
To encourage the orderly development and the most appropriate use of land throughout the Town.
K.
To promote compatibility of site configuration and design within surrounding areas.
