Enforcement request. If the building inspector shall be informed, by written request, that any provision of this zoning bylaw or of any permit or decision (issued by the building inspector, the special permit granting authority or board of appeals) or decree thereunder has been, is being, or is likely to be violated, then the building inspector shall make or cause to be made an investigation of the facts, including an inspection of the property where the violation may exist, and, if he finds any violation, then the building inspector shall, within 14 days, give notice in writing to the owner of the property or his duly authorized agent and to the occupant of the property, and shall order that any violation shall immediately cease and may also order corrective action.
If the building inspector determines that there is no violation, he shall give written notice of his decision, and reasons therefor, to the party requesting such enforcement or action within 14 days after the receipt of such request.
