SECTION 8

4. - OZM.

8.4.1.

Identification of official zoning map (OZM). The OZM as prepared by the development services department shall be entrusted to the custody of the city clerk and shall be located in the office of the city clerk. It shall be identified by the signature of the mayor, attested by the city clerk, and shall bear the city seal under the following words: "This is to certify that this is the OZM referred to in chapter 8 of this Code.

8.4.2.

Amendments. Adopted amendments to the OZM shall be promptly noted on the true copy of the OZM by inserting the ordinance number and date of adoption on or near the affected lot.

8.4.3.

Retention of earlier zoning maps. All zoning maps and regulations or remaining portions thereof, which have official force and effect in the city prior to the effective date of this code, shall be retained as public records.

8.4.4.

Replacement of OZM. If the OZM is damaged, destroyed, lost or difficult to interpret because of the nature or number of changes and additions, the city council may adopt, after due public notice, an updated OZM which will supersede the prior OZM. The updated OZM may correct drafting or other errors or omissions in the prior OZM, but no such corrections shall have the effect of amending the original OZM or any subsequent amendment thereof. The updated OZM shall be identified in the same manner as the original OZM, except that the certificates shall state: "This is to certify that this OZM supersedes and replaces the OZM adopted on ________, as part of this code dated ________. Unless the prior OZM has been lost or has been totally destroyed, the prior map or any significant parts thereof remaining shall be preserved, together with all available records pertaining to its adoption or amendment.
