(A) The town hereby adopts and accepts the provisions of Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 29-250 et seq.
(B) The purpose of this adoption is to provide rules and standards in the construction, repairing and remodeling of buildings and structures within the town, in conformity with the conditions and standards set forth in the State Building Code and the various provisions of Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 29-250 et seq.
§ 150.02 NEW RESIDENCE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION TO INCLUDE FIREWALL.
(A) All residence buildings constructed in the town on and after the effective date hereof, containing three or more living units with independent cooking and bathroom facilities (whether the same shall be designated as an apartment house, condominium, tenement-garden apartment, rooming house, town house or by any other name) shall have a fire rated wall of two-hour duration separating each unit.
(B) The fire wall shall extend from the basement (or ground level, if no basement exists) to the under side of the roof sheathing.
(C) No certificate of occupancy shall be issued for any building or living unit which shall not comply with the provisions hereof.
(A) Any person who shall violate a provision of the State Building Code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of any approved plan or directive of the Building Official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of the Code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both, a fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
(B) Any person who shall continue any work in or about the building after having been served with a stop order, except work as he or she is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable to a fine of not less than $25 or more than $500. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
