The locations and boundaries of the districts established herein are shown on the zoning map which is a part of this chapter. The territory shown on the map which lies outside the corporate limits is designated as suitable for annexation and the zoning classification is the classification for such land upon annexation.
Property that becomes annexed to the city shall automatically be rezoned to the classification shown on the zoning map. If no classification is shown on the zoning map for the territory annexed, the territory shall automatically be classified to the highest restrictive use (R-1) under this chapter. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent the filing of a petition for a zoning change as provided in the Statutes of the State of Illinois or in this chapter.
§ 151.038 ZONING OF STREETS, ALLEYS, PUBLIC WAYS AND RAILROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY.
All streets, alleys, public ways and railroad rights-of-way, if not otherwise specifically designated, shall be deemed to be in the same use district as the property immediately abutting upon such alleys, streets, public ways and railroad rights-of-way. Where the center line of a street, alley, public way or railroad right-of-way serves as a district boundary, the zoning of such areas, unless otherwise specifically designated, shall be deemed to be the same as that of the abutting property up to such center line.

§ 151.039 BOUNDARY LINES.
Whenever any uncertainty exists as to the boundary of any use district as shown on the zoning map incorporated herein, the following rules are suggested:
(A) Where district boundary lines are indicated as following streets, alleys or similar rights-of-way, they shall be construed as following the center lines thereof.
(B) Where district boundary lines are indicated as approximately following lot lines, such lot lines shall be construed to be such boundaries.
