CHAPTER 17

28 - NATURAL RESOURCE ZONE N-R

17.28.010 - Purpose.

The purpose of the N-R zone is to protect land and water important as habitat for plant, animal, or marine life for future generations, to ensure open spaces, to promote a healthy and visually attractive environment, and to provide for human development and enrichment by providing recreational areas, facilities, and opportunities.

17.28.020 - Uses permitted outright.

In an N-R zone, the following uses and their accessory uses are permitted outright:

A.

Planting, cultivation and harvesting of timber or agricultural crops.

B

Pasture.

C.

One residence per tax lot existing on the effective date of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, provided the residence is occupied in conjunction with an agricultural use.

D.

Accessory out-buildings.

E.

Yaquina Estuary Management Unit #33 shall be governed by the permitted uses established through the Yaquina Bay Task Force.

F.

Public park facilities.

G.

Transportation facilities (operation, maintenance, preservation, and construction in accordance with the city Transportation System Plan).

17.28.030 - Conditional uses permitted.

A.

Pumping station and utility substation.

B.

Structural shoreline stabilization.
