ARTICLE I

Title; Purpose; Scope

§ 300-1 Title.

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Town of Trenton Zoning Local Law."

§ 300-2 Purpose.

For the purpose of promoting the health, safety, morals or the general welfare of the community and thus to lessen congestion in the streets; to secure safety from fire, flood, panic and other dangers; to provide adequate light and air; to prevent the overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population; to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks and other public requirements; and to promote aesthetic values, under and pursuant to Article 16 of Chapter 62 of the Consolidated Laws, as it may be amended, the size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of lot that may be occupied, the size of yards, the density of population and the location and use of buildings, structures and land for commerce, industry, residence or other purposes are hereby restricted and regulated as hereinafter provided.

§ 300-3 Scope.

This chapter shall apply to the construction, installation or alteration of any building, structure or appurtenant system and any lot, plot or parcel of land used, occupied or otherwise maintained as herein provided for in the Town of Trenton.
