Definitions. As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ACCESSWAYSThe minimum width shall be 25 feet for two-way vehicular movement and 15 feet for one-way vehicular movement. "Accessways" shall be used to connect adjoining properties which have parking lots.
AISLEA vehicular travel lane within a parking lot. Aisles shall be no less than 12 feet for one-way traffic and 20 feet for two-way traffic.

BERMAn earthen mound designed to provide visual interest, screen undesirable views and/or decrease noise. "Berms" shall not have a slope greater than 4 to 1 (see Figure 1).
BUFFERA combination of physical space and vertical elements, such as plants, berms, fences or walls, the purpose of which is to separate and screen incompatible land uses from each other (see Figure 1).
DECIDUOUSA plant with foliage that is shed annually.
ENCROACHMENTAny protrusion of a vehicle outside a parking space, display area, aisle, driveway or accessway into a landscaped area.
EVERGREENA plant with foliage that persists and remains green year-round.
IMMEDIATE ENVIRONSA strip of land at least 15 feet wide running parallel to or surrounding a natural feature(s) such as rivers, streams, wetlands, sinkholes or other similar natural features.
LANDSCAPE PLANA component of a development plan on which is shown proposed landscape species (such as number, spacing, size at time of planting, and planting details); proposals for protection of existing vegetation during and after construction; proposed treatment of paved and unpaved surfaces; proposed decorative features; grade changes; buffers and screening methods; parking lot design; and any other information that can be reasonably required in order that an informed decision can be made by the approving authority (Figure 2).

LANDSCAPINGAny of the following or a combination thereof: material such as but not limited to grass, ground covers, shrubs, vines, hedges and trees; and nonliving durable material commonly used in landscaping, such as but not limited to rocks, pebbles, sand, walls and fences, but excluding paving.
ORNAMENTAL TREEA deciduous tree planted for its ornamental value or for screening purposes; tends to be smaller at maturity than a shade tree.
PARKING LOTParking spaces shared by more than one dwelling or use, required for use in the commercial or industrial zoning districts, or for any institutional, commercial or industrial use in any zoning district. This definition shall not include those areas required for the parking, storing, loading or unloading of trucks and vans in industrial areas.
SCREENA method of reducing the impact of noise and unsightly visual intrusions with less offensive or more harmonious elements, such as plants, berms, fences, walls and/or other appropriate combination thereof (see Figure 1).
SHADE TREEUsually a deciduous tree planted primarily for its high crown of foliage or overhead canopy.
SHRUBSSelf-supporting, woody, evergreen species, as normally grown in Warren County.
TREESSelf-supporting woody plants of species which normally grow to an overall height of a minimum of 15 feet in Warren County.
VINESPlants which normally require support to reach mature form.
WOODLANDS, EXISTINGExisting trees and shrubs of a number, size and species that accomplish the same general function as new plantings.
