ARTICLE XIV

- LEGAL STATUS PROVISIONS

Section 140. - Interpretations, Purpose and Conflict.

In their interpretation and application, the provisions of this ordinance shall be held to the minimum requirements, adopted for the promotion of the public health, safety, morals, and general welfare. Wherever the requirements of this ordinance are at variance with other requirements of lawfully adopted rules, regulations, ordinances, deed restrictions, or covenants, the most restrictive, or that imposing the highest standards, shall govern.

Section 141. - Validity.

Should any section or provision of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid by the courts, such decisions shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof, other than the part so declared to be unconstitutional or invalid.

Section 142. - Effective Dates.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and adoption.

Duly adopted by the Wayne County Board of Commissioners on the 12th day of September 1967.
