ARTICLE XVII

Amendments

§ 225-76 Procedure.

The Borough Council may, from time to time, on its own motion or on petition, amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal by ordinance the boundaries of districts or regulations or restrictions herein established. Any proposed amendment, supplement, change, modification or repeal shall first be submitted to the Planning Commission/Committee for its recommendations and report. The Planning Commission/Committee shall make a preliminary report and shall hold a public hearing thereon before submitting its final report. Upon receipt of the final report of the Planning Commission/Committee with respect to any proposed amendment, supplement, change, modification or repeal, the Borough Council shall proceed to hold a public hearing in relation thereto, giving at least 14 days' notice of the time and place of such hearing, which notice shall be published in a newspaper having general circulation in the Borough. Thirty days prior to the Borough-conducted public hearing, the Borough Planning Commission/Committee shall submit the proposed amendments to the County Planning Commission for recommendations.

§ 225-77 Applicability of statutory provisions.

The foregoing provisions as to amendments and changes shall at all times be subject to the procedural requirements of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Act 247, as amended.[1]
