Editor's note—Ord. No. 24-2, adopted March 12, 2024, repealed the former Art. XVI, §§ 1601—1604, and enacted a new Art. XVI as set out herein. The former Art. XVI pertained to similar subject matter and derived from Ord. of Jan. 26, 1989.
Wherever the requirements of this Land Development Ordinance are at variance with the requirements of any other lawfully adopted statutes, rules, regulations, or ordinances, the most restrictive or that imposing higher standards, shall govern.

Each phrase, sentence, paragraph, section, or other provision of this Land Development Ordinance is severable from all other such phrases, sentences, paragraphs, sections, and provisions. Should any phrase, sentence, paragraph, section, or provision of this Land Development Ordinance be declared by the courts to be unconstitutional or invalid, such declaration shall not affect any other portion or provision of this Land Development Ordinance.

This Land Development Ordinance is a comprehensive enactment of all of the resolutions and ordinances of the town council of the Town of Bedford relating to zoning and land subdivision. All prior ordinances affecting zoning and land subdivision are hereby repealed.

This Land Development Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from January 1, 2024, and a certified copy of the foregoing "Land Development Ordinance" of the Town of Bedford, Virginia, shall be filed in the office of the zoning administrator of the town and in the office of the clerk of the circuit court of the County of Bedford, Virginia.
