CHAPTER 12

AMENDMENT AND LEGAL STATUS PROVISIONS

Sec. Z-1201.- Amendments.

This Zoning Ordinance, including the Zoning Map, may be amended by the City Council from time to time as provided by law.

Any person may request a zoning map or text amendment by filing an application accompanied by a fee in an amount to be fixed by the City Council from time to time.

Sec. Z-1202. - Legal status provisions.

Conflict with Other Ordinances. Whenever the regulations contained in this Ordinance require a greater width or size of yards, courts, or other open spaces, or require a lower height of buildings or less number of stories, or require a greater percentage of lot to be left unoccupied, or impose other higher standards than are required in any other Ordinance or statute, the provisions of this Ordinance shall govern. Whenever the provisions of any other Ordinance, covenant, or statute require a greater width or size of yards, courts, or other open spaces, or require a greater percentage of lot to be left unoccupied, or impose other higher standards than are required by this Ordinance, the provisions of such other Ordinance, covenant, or statute shall govern.

Validity. Should any section or provision of this Ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration shall not affect the validity of this Ordinance as a whole or any part thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.

Repeal of Conflicting Ordinances. The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Bristol Tennessee as adopted on final reading on June 1, 1943, and all subsequent amendments thereto are hereby repealed, as of the effective date of this ordinance (April 4, 1986).
