ARTICLE I

Title; Intent; Interpretation

§ 350-1 Title.

This chapter shall be known as and may be cited as "Local Law No. 3 of 2011."

§ 350-2 Intent.

This chapter, enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Bristol pursuant to Article 16 of the Town Law of the State of New York, is adopted in accordance with a well-considered Comprehensive Plan to promote the public health, safety and general welfare; to encourage the use of lands in accordance with their character and adaptability and to limit the improper use of land; to regulate the density of population and the location and use of buildings, structures and land for trade, commerce, industry, residence, agriculture, essential services or other purposes after reasonable consideration, among other things, of the character of the Town and its peculiar suitability for particular uses in order to conserve and enhance natural resources, land values, and to protect existing properties and environment.

§ 350-3 Interpretation.

The provisions of this chapter shall be considered minimum standards and requirements within each respective zoning district and shall not preclude the establishment of higher or more restrictive standards or requirements for the authorization of any conditional use permit where such higher or more restrictive standards or requirements are found necessary by the Town Planning Board to attain the intent of this chapter.

§ 350-4 Conflicting legislation.

Conflicting laws of a more restrictive nature are not affected or repealed by this chapter.
