This chapter, enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Bristol pursuant to Article
16 of the Town Law of the State of New York, is adopted in accordance with a well-considered Comprehensive Plan to promote the public health, safety and general welfare; to encourage the use of lands in accordance with their character and adaptability and to limit the improper use of land; to regulate the density of population and the location and use of buildings, structures and land for trade, commerce, industry, residence, agriculture, essential services or other purposes after reasonable consideration, among other things, of the character of the Town and its peculiar suitability for particular uses in order to conserve and enhance natural resources, land values, and to protect existing properties and environment.
